A Meeting Between Jazz and Classical Music
Composer and conductor Dominique Rieux, a leading figure in France’s great jazz orchestras, created the Blue Rose Project, bringing together jazz and chamber music.
This unique ensemble features nine renowned musicians. Pianist, composer and arranger Philippe Léogé has created a rich repertoire especially for the group, combining the works of Thelonious Monk and Astor Piazzolla.
Two distinct musical worlds come together and find harmony through a jazz quintet and string quartet.
Soloists Dominique Rieux and Jean-Michel Cabrol, alongside all the members of the Blue Rose Project, explore the possibilities born from this encounter between jazz and classical music.
Presented by the Jazz Club Béziers association.
