Under the sharp sticks of drummer Marion Gineste, the subtle playing of double bassist René Pignatelli and the delicate touch of pianist Marianne Perrot, these three musicians bring back to life the iconic themes of the golden age of jazz, a music that constantly reinvented itself throughout the 20th century, from hot jazz to bebop, through the swing of the 1930s.
With its name, Minuit et au-delà, borrowed from the novel by Marion Gineste, the band’s drummer, this Languedoc trio of piano, double bass and drums proudly displays its musical identity. Between jazz and jazz, there is no need to choose: the group embraces the spirit of the Saint-Germain-des-Prés jazz clubs, where great standards echoed late into the night, infused with blues and Latin and Afro-American rhythms.
