Following their moving concert at the Minotaure in 2022, the Magenta Quartet returns with a new programme dedicated to two great female composers: Fanny Mendelssohn and Grażyna Bacewicz.
Two women, two eras, two extraordinary lives.
Fanny Mendelssohn, a 19th-century pianist and composer, was long forced to create in the shadow of her brother Felix. Grażyna Bacewicz, a 20th-century Polish violinist and composer, made her mark with a powerful, free-spirited and deeply personal body of work.
Two voices that long remained in the shadows, now brought together by the Magenta Quartet. A vibrant, virtuosic and committed programme.
A long-awaited return to the Minotaure.
The recital will be followed by a meet-and-greet with the artists at the Café du Théâtre.
