16th Chants d’Hiver et de Femmes Festival
Kolinga means “to love” in Lingala, but also “to build connections”. Led by musician, songwriter, composer and singer Rébecca M’Boungou, the project gives a voice to stories that have long been forgotten or silenced. Blending contemporary music, jazz and Bantu musical traditions, Rébecca’s committed songwriting brings feminist, children’s rights, environmental and decolonial struggles to the forefront, while always keeping them connected to personal experience.
Hasta Cuando? is a project conceived and co-written by Martha “Martica” Galarraga and Eliene Castillo. Two Afro-Cuban panthers, two free-spirited and firmly feminist artists, two sensitive, rebellious and passionate activists… Hasta Cuando? rings out as a musical cry against misogyny and racism.
